In the grand scheme of records out now, Quicksand is definitely at the top of their game. On their new album Distant Populations they take things to the max and even then some. Of course the album is epic in its own right, you can at least stream the new record here under their new song “Colossus” here before really digging into the album as a whole.

The band comes in and doesn’t let up. The way they come in with Walter on vocals has an intensity all of its own. Focusing on the song’s away from the box intensity is magical. The way you can hear the band’s intensity in every note is magical and worthy of getting into. Their way into the complexities of the song helps get you past  the simplicities and takes you closer to the complexities of the song’s overall appearance.

The song can be heard above or wherever you listen to music. The physical copies can still be preordered from Epitaph Records ahead of its September 24 release. Quicksand will be on tour in the US starting September 28 at Paradise Rock Club in Boston, MA until October 31 at Theatre of Living Arts in Philadelphia, PA.
