In the grand spectrum of music artists offer themselves up in ways that give them an upper hand. For an artist like dvr you can offer yourself up in multiple ways and have the upper hand. The solo artist has offered up his latest single “stupid” off of his upcoming EP dirty tapes EP the artists offers things up in an odd and communicative way that makes him stand out more than other acts on the XL Catalog.
The video features people at a comedy club doing sets, with dvr performing first. His rap style on the mic offers the song up with a heady stance. As the video progresses and he gets ready for a day out among others. With pic takers getting wet, and his bad wording as a cake maker, he offers music up in a new way. His way of performing doesn’t offer the song up in any weird way, and patrons interact with it in different ways. While some get violent with it and start a fight of sorts, he just goes about his day as if nothing has occurred.
The video can be streamed above or on YouTube. The song can be heard on all streaming services. The dirty tapes EP is available for preorder ahead of its January 14 release date from XL Recordings.
