In the grand spectrum of music, the band Horsegirl proves to play music as a career you must love it. In a handful of notes the trio quickly proves that they’re far ahead of lovers of music and they’re far ahead of many acts in their age range. With a new 7 inch coming out, they’ve announced and released the song “Billy.” The video alone should showcase those who love music.
The song opens with a chaotic guitar tone with the band going full in on what they’re playing. The way the chords wrap around inside of the amplifier offers them up with a more organic tone. Between shopping veggies and donning masks, the band makes the most of time where other members aren’t in the room. The silliness of teenagers acting a certain way is emblazoned on the video for the song, as they dance around in found masks and pots as helmets within the apartment. The band sounds amazing when everyone in getting down, which is most like catching them in person. The video portrays that aspect of them well.
The video can be viewed above or on YouTube. The song is available to stream on all music platforms or it can be purchased as a seven inch directly from Matador Records. The band is on tour starting March 16 at SXSW in Austin, TX until March 22 at Market Hotel in New York, NY. Their dates can be found here.
