Artists like Bob Mould are true road dogs. The type of artist who finds his place out playing live for any audience that would have them. For an act like Bob Mould he’s a real road dog. Aside from adding tour dates he’s dropped his song “The Ocean” in a live version to hold your ears. and aside from his solo sound, he holds onto you from start to finish.
Mould has no issue getting things to sound dirty on his Fender Stratocaster. His vocals sound emphatic here where he sings his emotions throughout. The way he plays between notes that aren’t there yet you can still hear them is magical. Mould has no issue remembering who he is as an artist and it shows. The way he plays the guitar and shouts out the lyrics offers up a sound that you only get when you catch him live. The sound is as magical as he is in a live setting.
The song is available to stream above or on YouTube. The song can be heard wherever you stream music. His new album Blue Hearts or his box set can be purchased directly from Merge Records or his site. Bob Mould is on the road starting in Dublin, IE at Whelan’s until March 06 at Charleston, WV at Mountain Stage at the Cultural Center Theater. His dates are available here.
