For a good while Dear Boy has seemingly known what they want and how to go about getting it. While the band has had no issue developing that into their music, sometimes they go opposite and share another feeling. On their new single “Say When” they dig deep into not knowing what you want or how to achieve obtaining it while taking us on the ride in getting there.
The song has an easy going sound to it. Between the chill side of the band and the imagery of them at the front of the video we get plenty of “what’s up” shots. While the band’s lead singer is notably chill throughout, the bulk of that band is on set to work towards something larger. The imagery of members hugging one another fall between imagery of their performance. There’s an easy going side to the band as well with easy going moments throughout. There’s a nice mixture of easy going moments and serious ones here. Outdoors in the hot wind such matters can become tedious but here they seem chill and easy going, much like the band’s music.
The video can be viewed above via YouTube or heard wherever you stream music. The band has a new album coming next year from Last Gang. You can catch them live and in person on December 10 at The Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles, CA.
