Parquet Courts Destroy at Houston Performance

The other night we were happy to chill out and catch Parquet Courts in person over at White Oak Music Hall. The Texas natives have always thrown down here in Houston, yet this show felt more like business than a show. With crew in tact we went and caught the band at their best while catching some jams not everyone gets to see.

The show opened with a dingy and loud primarily instrumental song that got things going. Then the band launched into a “hit” by ushering us into a song that echoed the rest of the night. The band had no issues wavering between light and heavier tracks as the night went along. Sometimes the songs would com in as a surprise and sometimes it was obvious. The band went well over an hour playing and seemingly enjoying themselves with a set list made up of older and newer songs.

The new album is available from Rough Trade Records. Their music is also available to stream wherever you stream it. Parquet Courts are on tour starting November 19 at Stubbs BBQ in Austin, TX until June 16 at o2 Institute in Birmingham, UK. Their complete tour dates are accessible here.
