In the grand scheme of how the music industry operates, Parquet Courts are definitely doing their own thing. Aside from their live sets that return in February, the band is sharing videos and getting things in order. With a new daily release for the next two weeks, the band is living well over the next two weeks. Yesterday the band dropped the video for their new song “Marathon of Anger” and it’s a wild ride throughout.

The song’s chill and searching sounds are on full display here as the band starts to look for a place to land their sound. While the sounds are all Parquet Courts, there’s a difference here as well. The band takes a more chill approach to the music. Even with group vocals, there’s a rough tone here that flows within the song itself. Pushing the open ended narrative, there’s little here that feels familiar which is excellent. The band’s sounds excel here between the normal and extend their sound to a whole new place within. The project within the video feels more centered around other things rather than just the song, which makes this work so much better.

Parquet Courts is on tour starting February 27 in Asheville, NC at The Orange Peel until June 16 at 02 Institute in Birmingham, UK. Their complete touring schedule is available here.
