In today’s music world it’s hard to find bands that do everything together. In life such a finding is even harder to navigate. However for Chicago’s Horsegirl it’s just how they roll. While we’ve all waited for the band’s debut album the time for it’s release has finally come. On June 03 Matador Records will reveal Versions of Modern Performance into the world while the band’s new single is ready to hear. Feel free to stream their new video for “Anti-glory” below and fall for its catchy sound.
The song opens with an energetic drum sound met by the bass and the guitar. The reeling guitar track features a notation that you can’t shake as their singer quaintly leads the song forward with her hushed vocals. The mix of intensity in the vocals between the breaks in the music sheens your ears while they band’s inner being flows through with ease. The backing vocals also help build up the song and take over your ears as the two elements work well together. The distanced touches throughout offer a mix of post punk into the song while the band continues to perform as if nothing has happened.
The song can be heard above via YouTube or wherever you stream music, The band’s new album Versions of Modern Performance is available for preorder directly from Matador Records. Horsegirl will be on tour starting March 16 at Cheer Up Charlie’s for SXSW in Austin, TX until August 06 in Montreal, Canada at Petit Campus. Their tour dates can be found here.
