In heavier terms of rock music there are bands that excite your ears the moment you hear them. While few bands can exhibit that feeling on the regular we feel that Wilful Boys can. With a sound that feels more internal than external, their sound is it’s own blend of mayhem that sticks like glue once you hear it. Their new single “Heaven” exhibits this perfectly from their upcoming release Word, Ward, Word, Sword out on May 06 their new song definitely gives you a vibe towards their sound.
The song opens with a garbled guitar at its start. The distorted notes make themselves known against the drums and sound like a hurricane against the vocals. Those vocals have a chaotic sound as they get screamed into the mic. The way they’re offered up where you can’t understand them fully is magical in how it comes out. The way the band careens around sounds as the vocals come out is wonderful. The way the band approaches this song works on multiple levels and gives it to you exactly how you want it.
