Usually when we find bands that have catchy new tracks out, they don’t look much like the music they make. However for their new song “Dead Drummers” Near Beer fit the parts perfectly. With a self-titled record coming out on July 15 the band makes a splash here with a song thet hits from the moment it begins.
The drums that open the song should let you know that the guitar and bass that follow are exceptional. The vocals harken back to a time when the band had more members while the words all hit perfect. The reeling in the guitar parts works while the bleed from the bass links itself together. The song is catchy and memorable and streams seamlessly in its wake. The band comes together to make the rattle make more sense and keep your ears happy.
The song can be heard above or wherever you stream music. Near Beer’s album is available to preorder directly from Double Helix Records before it drops on July 15. Near Beer will be on tour starting July 14 in Reno, NV at 7th Street Station until July 17 in San Diego, CA at Til-Two Club. Their dates can be found here.
