Kevin Morby & Waxahatchee Drop Covers To Raise Money

Sometimes there’s noy much you can do to help an organization far away. For some artists that can be an issue but for Waxahatchee and Kevin Morby it isn’t. After the controversial bill of removing Roe vs Wade support, the state of Kansas is looking for support of their org VoteNoKansas. To support the group each artist put a cover on Bandcamp where all proceeds support the group.

Things kick off with Kevin Morby’s cover of “The Goldheart Mountaintop Queen Directory” which is warming. The song has a very direct sound drenched in emotion. The way he delivers the lyrics is masterful and sounds like it was recorded on sight. His direct approach has a soft but direct sound that levies everything off. With the “Tears In The Typing Pool” cover by Waxahatchee also feels very personal. Coming off with a personal opening, the song studies itself and examines the sound. Waxahatchee sounds personal and deep here, covering the song to her beat at ease. The personal space use here emits a true sound rather than something manufactured.

The songs can be heard here. The money donated goes directly to the cause.
