The album On The Possible Past has always been one of our favorites. Conveying so much life, the record gave us everything and more when it dropped ten years ago. Now the band has decided to go back there with it’s 10th anniversary reissue. The Menzingers made their name with that album and is ready to take us back. The reissue is packed with all sorts of goodies including demos and unreleased tracks. Today we’ll hear the unreleased song “Burn” and go back with them.
The song opens with acoustic guitar that rings underneath the vocals. It’s tender yet punk sound gives the song a new life to breathe under. The energy behind the song can be just as unwritten and untapped. The song has enough shells around it so that you can’t tell the beginning from the end. And maybe that’s the point of it all.
The song can be heard above or wherever you stream music. You can preorder the new album from Epitaph Records. The Menzingers are on tour starting September 17 at Riot Fest in Chicago, IL until December 10 in San Francisco, CA at Great American Music Hall. Their tour can be followed here.
