It’s hard to believe that it’s time for Jenny Hval to drop a new album, and she did with Classic Objects. A new track that we wished would’ve appeared on it was called “Buffy.” but it wasn’t. Now it’s out on it’s own and it’s glorious. The song chronicles a time where it’s insides all make sense and lead us over the bluff. Before you stream it below and feel it out and remember that she has a tour next year as well.
The open feeling to it is remarkable. Hval makes you feel instrumental but not without any emotion as it plays. It’s almost like a song for the ends of life. The way her vocals tremble down a line to shine here and there is masterful. The stark elements are mesmerizing as only Hval can do with her epic vocals. The gain is so much more than just music, it’s like a message that gets delivered heard loud and clear.
The song can be heard above or wherever you stream music. It can also be purchased from 4ad records. The tour she has starts November 19 at Kasserne (Rosstail 1) in Basel, Switzerland until November 24 at Gnration in Braga, Portugal. Her dates can be found here.
