Most of the time when artists team up the reaction can be good or terrible. When Phoebe Bridgers teamed up with The National however, the result was magic. Her vocals just work in more ways than one and their new single “Your Mind Is Not Your Friend” is an epic example of it. The song opens gently and against itself. The lead vocals take you into a world you might not understand. then Bridgers joins and takes you off into a new world. The exploratory nature of the song is amazing. The depth within and one man’s imaginary friend is amazing. The places they go and explore is something different from what you’re used to.
