Mac Krol Drops New Song Off Collaborative 7″

At record labels there’s nothing better than having someone listen to what you’re working on. While Mike Krol was working on a new album, his vocals didn’t match the music so he sent them to Mac McCaughn. Mac was in disdain but sent the songs back with lyrics in tact. Now they’re releasing the songs on 7″ via Merge on July 28. Stream the new song “For Some Other Reason” below.

The bombastic opening matches perfectly with McCaughn’s vocals. The easy going nature of his vocals creates a yin yang sort of sound that works on all levels. The guitar shreds through the chorus as Mac sings along.  The way it all pairs together works and lets you let go and enjoy the riffs. The coupling could be the start of something new if we’re lucky.

The new song can be heard above or wherever you stream music. The 7″ is available for preorder from Merge Records before its July 28 release.
