New music is always a welcomed addition to anything we release. The way of added songs to an album usually curates themselves to something special. On their new album The Battle of Darren the brit pop group Blur dropped two extra tracks on the album. Thus “The Rabbi” and “The Swan” are below and ready to stream.
On “The Rabbi” the band opens up and lets in a jangly pop sound. The way of the guitar mixed with the vocals really readies up a sound worth exploring. The swing of the guitar mixed with the drums offers a sound that the band employs better than any of their contemporaries. For “The Swan” the band slows things down to a more intimate level. The guitar hops on and offers higher notes to compliment the vibe. The vocals are slower but represent the band in a more slowed down factor. Both songs are beautiful in how they’re presented and offered up.
Both songs are available to stream above or wherever you stream music. The Battle of Darren is out now and can be ordered directly from the band. Blur is on tour starting July 25 at Eventim Apollo in London, UK until November 25 in Buenes Aires, Argentina at Primavera Sound. Their tour dates can be found here.
