The National are the type of rock band that excites anyone who hears them. Earlier this year they dropped First Two Pages Of Frankenstein and took us on a myriad of trips through their sound. Now the band has dropped two new singles in the midst of their current tour. Stream “Alphabet City” and “Space Invader” below before catching them on tour.

“Alphabet City” has a whimsical feel to it. The playful nature of the band offering up the track with a moving back tone. The vocals touch down deep and take your ears to a new space. The song rings out and reaches a larger audience. For “Space Invader” the band takes a softer approach and delivers a one two punch. The piano mixing in with the other instruments breathes new life into the band as they move forward. The overall sound is triumph in that it hits better than the average single.

Both songs can be heard above or wherever you stream music. First Two Pages Of Frankenstein is available from 4 AD Records here. The National is on tour starting August 18 at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY until November 19 in Irving, TX at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory. Their dates can be found here.
