New music often has a precursor to it all. Stories of songs past link together with new tales that work together. For The Mountain Goats that’s what’s going on. The song has a finality to it that sings out to you. The vocals bounce in and take over while exercising their height. The drums roll in and the song feels full circle. Backing vocals add to the words that roll forward. The underpinned notes take your ears on a new journey. There’s a lot happening here but still sectioned off as its own sound.
