When reissues usually happen we get plenty of extra songs that didn’t make the cut. The players are the same but the sound is quite different. For CHVRCHES it’s no different. For the ten year reissue of The Bones of What You Believe the band has shared another song. What makes this one different is that Lauren Mayberry doesn’t sing lead but rather Ian Cook. The synths are a bit darker while his vocals are lighter in register. The song has the feel of an eighties band trying something new. However it’s catchy and easy to fall for. The beat is on a different level while the mixed vocals hit your ears hard and reeducate them to the sound. The upbeat track steers you towards a new sound that you can sink your teeth into.
