Bands have multiple reasons to reissue an older album. It could be money or just a blast from the past but the reissues today are far beyond what they were. For Social Distortion they’re ready to give us more. For their 40th Anniversary of Mommy’s Little Monster they’ve gone all in. As Mike Ness battles throat cancer the album comes in various colorways, remastered and with more. Stream the remastered version of “Another State of Mind” below.

The underpinned notes are clearer here as are the vocals. The way the band hits the ground running is extraordinary with backing vocals and plenty of power. The song sound new and amplifies the band’s standing. There’s more here than just a great sounding track but a band rebuilding all those years torn away by great guitar and drums.
