R.E.M. are celebrating the 25th anniversary release of their album UP with a new remastered release. Dropping on November 10 it includes a whole bonus of new material and rarely heard songs. This of course includes the 11 song set off the TV show Party of Five. Below is an excerpt of the song “Daysleeper” taken from the session.

The band feels light and promised of themselves. The way the vocals ring out between the instruments offers a hand towards the future. There’s  an undisclosed amount of happiness here that shines through on each note. The way the band excels through the chorus changes is masterful and proves they were always ahead of their time as a band.

The song can be heard above or preordered from Craft Recordings before it drops on November 10.
