Covering music can be a daunting task for some. Hitting those notes and playing those riffs could even break up a band. For Juliana Hatfield it seems like covers are up her alley. Her new single “Telephone Line” originally by ELO is epic. Available on her new album Juliana Hatfield Sings ELO, this version has plenty of pop to it.

The tones are all here while her vocals delightfully dance among them. Her easy going demeanor works well with the way the song is laid out. When she belts out she sounds sincere and to the point. There’s a cool kind of essence in her sound that gives the track more life. Her voice is the key to understanding the song better than before and it kills.
