Robert Pollard Drops New Song off New EP

Some artists have the ability to drop whatever they want. Their exposed self give us a glimpse into who they are and where they’re going. For Robert Pollard I don’t think he’s ever recorded a song he didn’t wanna’ release. His drops alone with Guided By Voices are epic and full of energy. However now he’s ready to drop a new project called Rip Van Winkle and their The Grand Rapids EP.  Their lead single “Prose Kaiser” is available below.

The energy is there to steer you into oncoming traffic if you will. Not meant in a bad way just different and varied in it’s overall sound. The detuned notes that swallow the music meet up with Pollard’s vocals. There’s an honesty here that you can’t shake while things take their own turn. The way the band soldiers off on their own means it’s just another fare for Pollard.

The song can be streamed above or wherever you stream music. The new project drops on February 23 on Rockathon Records.
