Few acts are as diverse as some and offer their music as an offering for the masses. Their leaders which are musicians dropping the true angst against it all are something else. Mary Timony is easily part of the leadership crowd. Her latest single “Summer” has just dropped off her new album Untame The Tiger and gives us so much more in looking into who she is as a guitarist. The guitar really rules your ears here and gets things started. Her vocals are a bit buried underneath yet that doesn’t hurt the track at all. Her style has a real neo-modern style that just fits and gives us her strongest single yet. The way the guitar sounds like it’s drowning at certain points is magical. The understated brilliance here is shadowed perfectly.
