Some acts in music wear themselves on their sleeve. Offering up a mix of who they are with who their music describes. You could say that’s the case for Iron & Wine. With a new single “You Never Know” off his upcoming record Light Verse,  his inner strength is outer beauty.

The simplicity and shadow here are beautiful. With dual vocals at the front he’s just toying with us. The guitar is carefully plucked and the way his voice just sits underneath it is magical. When the song picks up so does the music and it really catches you off guard. The way he constructs the song has this very heavy kindness to it.

The song can be heard above or wherever you stream music. Light Verse is available from Sub Pop Records before it drops on April 26.
