Some bands come out with new music and it just hits. Others offer it up and it goes further than that. For METZ their new songs are epic enough to crack the sky. With a new record Up On Gravity Hill coming in April their two new songs “Entwined (Street Light Buzz)” and “99” take their sound further than you’d think. Stream both before preordering a copy from Sub Pop.

“Entwined” has this epic sound of the band reaching out to whoever will listen. The far beyond touches give you so much in the chorus. The energy is there as is their own fixated tone. Even slowing down the song takes on new meaning to recoil at the aspect of slowing. For “99” the band has this nineties tone that signals underneath. The way the band offers up a hidden bubble of sound is epic. Their touches are enigmatic and rule the timeline. METZ has a unique sound that can’t be overshadowed even here.
