The Lemonheads Announce New Album & Drop Yo La Tengo Cover

It’s been close to ten years since The Lemonheads released music, and that was the album Varshons. Now they’ve just announced the arrival of Varshons II and they’re marking the occasion with a new single. The track, a song from indie trio Yo La Tengo feels about where we’d expect Dando to be nowadays.

It’s a dreamy cover of “Can’t Forget” that shows how solid Dando’s vocals are today, bringing him in line with other great singers from the past. Dando was never one to shy from loving other band’s music, so another Varshons record seems to make sense for the alt rocker this late in his career.

The complete track listing is as follows

Can’t Forget (Yo La Tengo)
Settled Down Like Rain (Jayhawks)
Old Man Blank (The Bevis Frond)
Things (Paul Westerberg)
Speed Of The Sound Of Loneliness (John Prine)
Abandoned (Lucinda Williams)
Now And Then (Natural Child)
Magnet (NRBQ)
Round Here (Florida Georgia Line)
TAQN (The Eyes)
Unfamiliar (The GiveGoods)
Straight To You (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds)
Take It Easy (The Eagles)
You can stream the above track all you’d like before the album drops on February 8 of next year. You can preorder Varshons 2 here, or through Bandcamp, or directly from Fire Records.
