The sounds created by California’s L.A. EXES evoke a tone that mixes multiple genres into one universal sound. While the band has been around for a minute, they’re announcing their debut album Get Some coming in late August. While what we’ve heard so far tells us that it will be a release you won’t soon forget, their new single “Baby Let’s Pretend” definitely will get stuck in your head from the moment it begins.

The vocals that open the song fall perfectly against the song’s almost doo wop pacing. The catchy notes fall perfectly on your ears between the drums and the hook filled guitar. The backing vocals add weight under the lead vocals and the song just makes your head bop. The harmonies within are definitely upbeat as the band puts their own spin on a sixties pop rock sound. There’s even enough here to make you get up and get your get down on.
