On April 12 Bibio will drop his latest creation Ribbons through Warp Records. Like most of the music that the folktronica artist creates, Ribbons should be as well planned and crafted as you’ve come to expect. The bulk of the music has a natural and almost photogenic quality, something that falls all over his latest single “Old Graffiti,” letting listeners know that Bibio is certainly in his stride and that this album definitely won’t disappoint.

The way things open on the track has the feel of seventies funk mixed with folkloric style. It’s as if you can picture the producer walking along whilst strumming the notes as he embodies the English countryside. Full of chill and relaxed vibes, the song has elements of R&B met with falsetto vocals and a pacing that makes anyone who hears it want to get up and find a partner to dance to it with. Bibio isn’t falling back on his laurels here, he’s pushing the envelope of what his music can be while pushing the genre forward at the same time.
