As far as artists on the Matador Records website, few have been as prolific as artist Steve Gunn. Gunn the youthful singer songwriter sounds pretty damn amazing on his latest single “Circuit Rider.” Taken from his upcoming full length Other You, here Gunn sounds as vocally strong as he has in years. Couple that feeling with the fact that he also has a whole new run of tour dates for next year and your getting a nice one two punch.

The song is reveled in squealing sounds that take you to a new space. The song is upbeat and Gunn sounds happy here, singing in a more reserved fashion. When the chorus gets a bit thicker Gunn follows suit. The way he performs here feels very second nature. The ease in his playing has a normalized tone. There’s few artists who can play this easily, yet here he does so as if it’s just no big deal. There’s plenty of broken steel notes that make their way in and offer the song up as more than you’re expecting which is always nice to be greeted by.

His new tour dates start on September 26 at Woodsist Festival in Accord, NY until a new run of tour dates ending on February 20, 2022 at Rote Fabrik Club Room in Zurich, CH.
